This week's question comes from Alex who blogs at Geek on the Brink:
"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"
My answer:
Definitely the characters. I've seen many overused plots many times but what makes them different from each other is the characters. The characters are what define the plot and bring in the reader. The plot can be amazing and unique but unless they it has awesome characters then it's no story at all. Sure the plot is what brings you in the book when reading the synopsis but it's the characters that make you stay.
Plus great characters and a little chemistry between them=my addiction

I am not in college yet. Still in high school so i'm unable to answer this but I know I want to become a teacher when I do attend college so thats a main priority. I'm also thinking about becoming a writer. And a sky diver. Heck I want to be a Author/teacher/blogger/ASTRONAUT.
As they say, dream big start small.

Happy book blogger hop!!
Has to be the characters. I can't care what they are doing unless I care about them first.
Dream big!!!!

The BBH question was a tough one for me this week! Very hard to choose either.
HI old follower here stopping by to wish you a Happy Holiday and as for college I studied Music and Video business until I became a stay at home mom.
My Follow Friday
Stopping in via the Hop! I think I can argue important of both, depending on what type of novel I'm reading. But character driven novels are my preference!
Happy weekend :)
Hello, new follower here! I'm with you on the characters -- they really do keep stories from being stale and boring.

LMAO! I'm on the author/blogger/astronaut/nurse/pharmacist/writer route. I can't make up my mind, and I'm IN college. :P Enjoy the highschool life while you can. Because college (more like finals) sucks. :/
Lol..hey it doesn't hurt to dream big!

I did not go to college, and I am currently retired. I worked for over 15 years in the secretarial division of Emery Air Freight in the 1960s and 1970s. I was a stay-at-home mom for the 1980s and 1990s, and now I am helping my daughter with her business, Tribute Books as the volunteer office manager.
I'm totally with plot. :) The most solid answer to this question but it's still on someone's preference. Anyway, read my answer in Clandestine Sanctuary.
I'm an old follower. Have a great weekend.
Me too. I prefer characters over plot. But both are important. Happy Blog Hop.
This might be the best Book Blogger Hop question I've seen to date.
So what's the answer? Plot! Hop over to my blog and let me tell you how a good plot rescued bad characters from bad book oblivion.

I agree. The characters are what draw you into the book. Here is my answer.
